Sarasate: Phantasia

In 1870s, although Paganini had already passed away, his enormous influence on the violin world could not dissipate for a long time, like a ghost. People regard him as the pinnacle of violin art, eager to imitate and surpass him. Sarasate doesn't care about this at all, because he believes that to violin art there is no pinnacle, and he wants to prove it. In 1876, despite his apprehensions due to the war between Germany and France, Sarasate finally decided to visit Germany on the advice of his friends Lalo & Saint Saëns. But It looked as if Germany was unwilling to accept anything from the enemy's country. After fighting against his inner demons and the support of his loyal friends, he stayed. In the years prior, Sarasate had already achieved a good response in countries such as Austria, where the court awarded him various honors. His first public appearance in Germany was at Gewandhaus concert hall in Lepzig. Joachim, who had been eyeing Sarasate's talent, had been tracking his route in the Germany and Austria region. Joachim wanted to contact with Sarasate. They did, but for some reasons they separated. Since then Joachim became very hostile towards Sarasate and began to incite and fabricate unfair comments everywhere. Brahms argued with Joachim due to expressing a greater appreciation for Sarasate's talent and they broke up. Bruch expressed dissatisfaction with Joachim's relationship and attitude towards Brahms, he was also scolded and belittled with Sarasate by Joachim.
