A lion that attacked Samson while he was going to meet his bride, Samson tears the animal apart with his own hands and on the way back feeds on honey from a beehive that was built on the dead lion's carcass. Inspired by this experience, Samson proposes a riddle to his godparents, which makes them furious for not being able to solve it and puts pressure on his bride to reveal the answer. Furious at the trickery, Samson kills thirty Philistines and gives their clothes to his godparents to fulfill his side of the bargain.
