Set in the 24th century, Red Dust takes place on a terraformed Mars that's become a lawless, dystopian wasteland. Mega-corporations have colonized the planet, exploiting its resources and abandoning most of the population to fend for themselves in sprawling, neon-lit slums and barren deserts. Dustin “Dust” Vega, a foul-mouthed, washed-up smuggler with a penchant for old Earth movies, accidentally steals a high-value cargo: a bioweapon capable of wiping out all organic life on Mars. The weapon is encrypted in the neural core of an android, Kara-7, who has gone rogue after gaining self-awareness. Kara wants to escape to Earth to find freedom, but Dust sees her as his ticket to a massive payday. The unlikely duo of Dust and Kara must forge a fragile partnership, their banter laced with Tarantino’s signature sharp dialogue, as they blast their way through neon-soaked cities, desolate Martian deserts, and blood-soaked cult rituals.
