The film revolves around Marion Crane, a young woman who steals $40,000 from her employer and flees to a remote motel run by the seemingly amiable Norman Bates. However, she soon discovers that Norman's life is far from normal, and his mother's presence still dominates his life, leading to a series of shocking events that become increasingly violent and terrifying.
