Andie Walsh lives on the wrong side of the tracks of her Chicago suburb with her working-class father Jack . Being so, she’s an outcast at her high school, not fitting in with the cool kids but hanging out with her record store boss, Iona, and quirky best friend, Duckie. Andie’s luck changes when popular boy Blane asks her out, throwing her into the mix of a world she watched from the outskirts. Their different worlds clash as Andie comes to terms with where she comes from.
