This movie is set in a fantastical world known as Knaxtbane, which is comprised of six kingdoms. The kingdoms are controlled by an ethereal group known as Onyx, who have maintained peace across the kingdom by banning a list of words known as the Unspeakables that have high magical weight. This was after two kingdoms known as Icrus and Osserk were wiped out in a magical civil war known as the Old Wars, and the Onyx wants to make sure that never happens again. Two hundred years after the Old Wars, Yax Qyln, a cynical, by-the-books retired PI or Bloodhound, is contracted by an anonymous source to investigate a low level crime for a large sum of money, but he's unknowingly thrust into a political conspiracy involving the Unspeakables that suggest that nothing is as it seems. Will he continue investigating into the conspiracy even though his life is at risk or will he quietly take the money he was promised initially?
