The perfect target was a modest 1997 video film, which surprisingly foreshadowed the rise of authoritarian populism in emerging countries in the first 15 years of the 21st century. This is an adaptation that tries to preserve the essence of the original. David Benson is hired to serve the security of a Central American country. There he soon discovers that corruption is the rule of the dictatorship and that he has been hired only to be used as a scapegoat while the female president and his henchmen profit from her crimes. He must flee and ends up joining the resistance that tries to overthrow the tyranny.
