Mr. Chase is the father of Annabeth and her half brothers, he’s a professor of US History and he can fly old planes. When Annabeth was born he tried to get out of raising her himself, but Athena held him to it. So to get another mother figure for Annabeth he married a mortal who was loving to thier sons but cold to Annabeth due to all the monster attacks. But in The Titan’s Curse we learn he’s actually devoted and not the monster Annabeth says he is.
