Six days after he was first referred to, the boy makes his first appearance in the comic strip. It is revealed that his name is Floyd, and he was only calling Marcie "Lambcake" to get her attention because he liked her. Marcie dismisses Floyd's use of the pet name as sarcasm intended to mock her. Peppermint Patty tells Marcie she is being ridiculous by beating up Floyd, just because he called her "Lambcake", which is not at all an insulting name. However, Peppermint Patty gets very angry, and even beats up Floyd when he calls her "Sir".
