Paul Colm Michael Mescal is an Irish actor born in Maynooth, County Kildare in 1996. He studied acting at The Lir Academy and performed in Dublin theaters before his breakout role in the 2020 miniseries Normal People. His portrayal of Connell Waldron earned him a BAFTA TV Award and an Emmy nomination. Mescal has also appeared in the films Aftersun, where he played an anxious single father, and God's Creatures, where he played a man accused of sexual assault
