A 14-year old boy from England named Kenny Atkinson and his widowed father Phillip who is also a singer have just moved to Australia so that both Phillip and Kenny can live a normal life and Kenny falls in love with an girl named Sam Jennings, but the school bully Edward Grissom and his father Charles want to tear down Kenny and Phillip's new home in order to build a hotel.
