Ever since the tragic car accident that took the life of her boyfriend, Taylor has been desperately trying to get her life back on track -- which hasn’t been easy, as she’s been juggling both her trauma and guilt over the situation. She figures starting a new job is as good a step as any towards recovery, and applies to work an overnight front desk at a roadside motel just a ways out of town. Seth is another employee at the motel, and usually works day shifts at the front desk. He's very good natured and is friendly to Taylor, offering her tips and advice to make it through her first shift alright.
