Synopsis

Miles Upshur, a journalist following up a lead by a whistleblower, arrives at Mount Massive Asylum run by the Murkoff Corp. in hopes of uncovering alleged abuse of the patients. What he finds is beyond his nightmares as the staff and armed guard have been slaughtered and the patients who were experimented on and turned into raving monsters. Trapped within the asylum, Miles finds himself under the unwanted attention of a patient and self-proclaimed priest, Father Martin, who claims that the unlucky journalist is his “Witness” who will observe the rise of his god, the mysterious Walrider. The whistleblower, Waylon Park, is a software tech that is hired to work on Murkoff’s top secret project. Happily married with two kids, Waylon only took the job due to finical issues but after witnessing the atrocities committed against the patients he decides to leak information to a journalist in hopes of bringing light to what is happening at Mount Massive. While he manages to get a message off, Waylon is caught by Jeremy Blaire, the head of Murkoff at Mount Massive and forcefully committed to the project he wanted to expose. At the very start of the Walrider rampage, all Waylon wants is to return to his family with at least some of his sanity intact.
