paris, france after losing her father and mother, belle found her solace in books. she grew up in an orphanage and her only real friends were those she read about in stories. losing herself in a fictional world instead of the real, lonely world she lived in. for belle, she spent her entire childhood in the orphanage. so when she became an adult and had to go and survive on her own she threw herself into something else - work. becoming a detective was important - succeeding at her job was even more important. she was clever and had an intricate way of thinking that meant she quickly worked her way through the ranks. this young woman, was bold, fearless - emotionally stunted but that was fine.
