Description of Splinter (Hamato Yoshi):
The human ninja master turned mutant Asian house rat who took the Turtles in as his sons and taught them every skill they needed to be a ninja team. Once he was Hamato Yoshi, who was one of the most talented martial artists. One night, Yoshi was visited by Oroku Saki, the leader of the Oroku Zaibatsu, who wanted to make Yoshi his right-hand man. When Yoshi learned of the Oroku family’s dark secrets, he tried to back out of the deal. However, Saki wouldn’t take no for an answer and killed Yoshi for his betrayal. But when Yoshi’s dead body was tossed into a vat of mutagen with his pet rat Splinter, Splinter was mutated into a human-sized rat with all of Yoshi’s memories and personality.
