After the Darkseid War, things went to normal for a while. The GCPD Police Department held a funeral for James Gordon for his sacrifice during the Darkseid War and the funeral was funded by Bruce Wayne. While Batman is helping the Justice League with the aftermath of the war, Dick protects Gotham. He has foiled the Falcone family's drug operations once again so they have hired and assassin to kill Nightwing, and it is none other than Slade Wilson, aka Deathstroke.
