For my idea of Sonic Forces, I want to use Modern Sonic in the beginning as the player having everything we've come to know about him, boosting, rail-grinding, spin-dash, Super Sonic, etc. But when Sonic is presumably killed by Infinite, Classic Sonic would jump in from out of the portal from Sonic Mania. And here, we don't go back to classic nostalgia. We have Classic Sonic in 3D gameplay, slowly but surely earning all the moves Modern Sonic has including the ability to talk. By the end, he’s effectively Modern Sonic, but we watched him grow into it.
