The main villain of the show; although his existence isn't revealed until late in the series, he is alluded to as the unknown voice that sent Ryutaros to kill Ryotaro under the promise of making him conductor of the DenLiner. Kai is revealed to be able to talk to all the Imagins, and commands the vast majority of them that go back in time and wreak havoc. When he finally makes an appearance on the show, it heralds multiple reveals about the Imagins and their goals.
