Katie and Sam have been friends since they were little, and the two plan to remain friends forever, a pact they made in childhood. When Katie dies in a hit and run accident, Sam feels guilty that she wasn't there to save her friend. As Sam struggles to pick up the pieces, Katie visits her as a ghost, becoming her friend's guardian angel.
