After the destruction of his village, Steve and his brother Brine (Herobrine) began training as warriors at age 12 under a surviving villager. Brine one day wandered off into a cave and into a sculk biome, where he got seduced by the Ender power, in which he eventually made the Ender Dragon a portal to the overworld. Once Steve heard about this, he teamed up with Alex in hopes of killing the dragon, and they set off on a perilous journey to save the overworld before the portal could finish opening.
