Hunter is an Anomaly--the only social designation more despised and feared than the Aberrations. Ky and Cassia, along with their Aberration companions, find him in an abandoned township in the Carving, burying his five-year-old daughter. He agrees to trade information and help them find the Rising, which his former Anomaly neighbors have joined. Hunter often displays abrupt and intense emotional reactions, developed from the years of trauma and loss that he has experienced. Will he be able to overcome the damage that the Society has inflicted on him? Or will his anger and grief consume him?
