"Secret Empire," the organization of the same name, led by the new Number One, kidnaps various mutant heroes and villains to power a "flying saucer." They land the saucer on the White House lawn, demanding government surrender or nuclear detonations in major cities. The Secret Empire is defeated by Captain America, Cyclops, the Falcon, and Marvel Girl. Number One, revealed to be a high-ranking government official, attempts a coup, committing suicide rather than be captured. read more
