During a mission into a newly discovered alternate reality known as the N-Zone, Reed Richards, Susan Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm are exposed to the Power Cosmic and gain superhuman abilities. Reed can stretch his body into any shape, Sue can turn invisible and generate force fields, Johnny can generate fire, and Ben transforms into a rock-like creature. They soon find themselves in the midst of an intergalactic conflict of unprecedented magnitude and encounter a power-mad dictator who seeks to manipulate the conflict in his favor.
