Monet St. Croix is an eccentric powerhouse mutant who displays a diverse array of superpowers, being also known simply by the name M. Having fallen victim to her vampiric brother Emplate, Monet has also a second identity, that manifests as the detestable Penance. Monet's convoluted story intertwined with the adventures of the students of the Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, as she joined their class as part of Generation X. After breaking free from Emplate's clutches, Monet was able to develop her potential as a promising mutant figure.
