Mario & Luigi decide to go on vacation for once, assigning someone to look over the Mushroom Kingdom for them. They settle on the Italian town of Portorosso, which is famous for hunting sea monsters. There, they meet Luca & Alberto, and start to get along with them, only to find out they are sea monsters. Meanwhile, Bowser finds out where Mario & Luigi have went and decides to pay Portorosso a little visit.
