The god of death, Thanatos has been like an adopted son of Hades ever since his mother Nyx dropped him off in the Underworld. Like Hades, he is often set back by his insecurities and reacts defensively when unsure how to conduct himself. He and Hermes are responsible for transporting the souls of the dead from the mortal realm to the Underworld.
