The future. American society has collapsed into city-states. In one such city-state, the citizens live as they please, not needing to work, sealed off from the rest of the world. Just one catch: to prevent overpopulation, nobody lives over 30 but a select few. Those who try to escape-called "Runners"-are terminated by enforcers called "Sandmen". Still, a select few have escaped, some say to a mythic place called "Sanctuary." Logan 5 is a Sandman-one of the best. He is nearly 30. It is time for him to seek Sanctuary-if he can.
