Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy are sisters who live in Cali. They live in an apartment on the border between all the apartments and mansions. They have a neighbor named Laurie who lives with his grandpa and tutor in a mansion. Meg and Laurie’s tutor date each other and eventually get married. Amy goes to Canada to paint with their aunt, and Laurie asks jo out. She rejects him and moves to New York, while he goes to Europe. Beth had Leukemia years before that and it came back. Then she dies and Amy starts going out with Laurie. They also get married and jo is lonely until the professor that lived under her where she moved in New York comes to visit. You guessed it they get married, and adopt a bunch of kids. They all live happily ever after.
