Kyle is a 16-year-old teenager who wakes up in the Seattle woods stark naked and with no memory of his life in the first place. Kyle is like a newborn baby in his lack of knowledge of human social life: he doesn't know even the simplest things like a way to eat or drink, and he can't communicate with other people. When Kyle walks through the streets of a nearby town, he is caught by the police. As they cannot get his records, he is taken to a children's home, where it is discovered that he lacks a belly button. Nicole Trager, a therapist, takes an interest in Kyle. She takes him home while the police search for his family.
