Kate Elizabeth Winslet is an English actress known for her portrayals of complex women in independent films, especially period dramas. However, her performance as “Rose DeWitt Bukater” in James Cameron's 1997 blockbuster Titanic opposite Leonardo DiCaprio catapulted her to international fame. Winslet has won an Academy Award for her role in The Reader (2008) and has been nominated for seven Academy Awards in total.
