Thomas Evan Nicholas, who uses the bardic name Niclas y Glais(b. 6 October 1879), is a Welsh poet, dentist and Welsh Deputy Chairman in the Union of Britain. Little else changed until 1931 when Welsh Chairman, S.O. Davies, stepped down with Arthur Horner replacing him. While not a nationalist himself, Horner appointed Nicholas to the position of Deputy Chairman, which he reluctantly accepted. Regional Deputy Chairs are an unpaid position, being primarily ceremonial and cultural. It was agreed that Nicholas would fit this well. Since then he has continued his life as before, albeit with a wider scope and audience, and has notably aligned with the Autonomist faction in the Federal Congress
