Douglas MacArthur(b. 26 January 1880) is a United States Army general who serves as the 13th chief of staff of the Army. MacArthur served as Superintendent of the US Military Academy at West Point from 1919 to 1922, where he attempted to enact a series of reforms. He was instrumental in quelling the 1924 Philippine Scout mutiny and became the Army’s youngest major general at the age of forty-four in 1925. He served on the court-martial of Brig.General B.Mitchell. In 1930 he was appointed by President as Chief of Staff of the US Army and was involved in the expulsion of the Bonus Army protesters from Washington in 1932.
