Darkseid has taken over the universe and has become ruler of Earth. He's corrupted Superman into being an authoritarian ruler and killer. It's up to a small resistance of Batman, Cyborg, The Flash, and various other heroes to defeat Darkseid and a corrupted Superman by going back in time before it ever happened to give them a fighting chance.
