Synopsis

Set in a small-town North Carolina amusement park in 1973, Joyland tells the story of the summer in which college student Devin Jones comes to work as a carny and confronts the legacy of a vicious murder, the fate of a dying child, and the ways both will change his life forever.

Description of Devin Jones:

Devin Jones is the main character and narrator of Stephen King's Joyland. As the narrator, Jones is an elderly gentleman who has been through a great deal in his life, including prostate cancer. Young Jones is a college student who has recently had his heartbroken by his first real love, Wendy Keegan.
