The young Englishwoman, despite recently turning 20, has not married. She meets Dima when he is looking for a model for his portrait. At first she rejects his proposal, but when she learns that he is to receive a huge salary and a prosperous life she tries to make him fall in love with her and even separate him from Orla. She is, of course, only concerned with money and a prosperous life of luxuries for which she is ready to marry.
