Two years after Batman defeated Superman and sent him to the Phantom Zone when he attempted to kill Brainiac and use his ship, Batman and Supergirl have finally created a new Justice League that everyone deserves and needs to make the world a better place, but then Superman escapes the Phantom Zone and takes Brainiac's ship and his technology to restablish the Regime and take control of the world once again; that's not all, an old foe of Superman named Manchester Black have created a Revenge Squad to fight Superman and own the Regime for himself as a way of payback against the Man of Steel for humilliating him years ago.
