  • amityusa This is one of the best horror stories I've ever read and I hope the readers of this book will enjoy it as much as I do. https://driftboss.net

    • comicfan2099   @mr_blue_sky okay so I would have the ghosts be the wife and son of a former plantation who after the civil war lost the plantation, and kill his wife because believe that she was cheating on him with one of the freed slave he also killed his son because he's was a witness

    • mr_blue_sky   @comicfan2099 I will add it, but the 'ideas' is how these stories would work. So far all I've come up with is Camp Crystal Lake is instead Estate Crystal Lake, since camps didn't exist back then.

  • dylanbower @mr_blue_sky The thing Team of explorers traveling the area rather than people in a established research station Night of the living dead That would be interesting. Texas chainsaw massacre set it in a old west. Instead of teens the family menaces travelers. Same with the hills have eyes-cannibal inbreeds menacing travelers. Friday the 13th A Native American tribe is massacred, and one body is resurrected by angry spirits. He’s a invulnerable spirit of vengeance. He single handily causes the newly built town of Crystal Lake to be a ghost town as he kills or drives out people who try living there or exploring. Candy man He’s a executed slave who came back as a spirit. He primarily targets the slave owners and their children. There would be no mirrors as a plot element Let the right one in The vampire boy would be framed like a seductive evil getting the human boy to slowly do bad things as he turns vampire. Kinda like Dorian gray. Or just copy the Carmilla story. Grudge I’d have the woman essentially be the wife from the yellow wallpaper. Driven mad and killed herself because of her husband and now is the lady in the walls. And I’d add that she had a son who was murdered because he was a witness and the dad didn’t want him to speak it,and really, the dad never liked him. They came back as vengeful ghosts who kill anyone who enters the house. IT, Hellraiser, Elm street, the exorcist, the shining, jaws, evil dead, Halloween,Psycho,Saw-these could transplant into the 1800s way too easily with minimal changes. the main characters in the elm street would be adults. And in the exorcist the priests get involved in the plot faster. Jaws Frame it like Moby Dick Halloween Laurie is a nanny instead of a babysitter The evil dead The necroimon is found by some travelers in a caravan going through woods. Bad things happen. Psycho I can see Norman draw inspiration from Jack the Ripper and HH Holmes Saw Base it on HH Holmes. And as for his motivations,it would likely be religiously motivated. Only one I don’t see is Scream as it’s all about horror movie nerds. Can’t find a good counterpart.
