During the 4th of July national holiday in the United States, four young friends, Julie, Helen, Barry and Ray, celebrate the end of their year of study and Helen's victory in a beauty contest. But as the festive evening comes to an end, on the way home, their car hits a man on the road. Panicked, the four friends decide by mutual agreement to get rid of the body and swear not to tell anyone.
