The animated show, Howling Commandos, follows a covert team led by Dum Dum Dugan and joined by a pre-Wolverine Logan, Gabriel Jones, Izzy Cohen, and new leader Union Jack. The team goes behind enemy lines in Germany’s Black Forest to confront a new threat: a German occult division led by the vampiric Baron Blood. The team's mission to infiltrate a German castle is complicated by regenerating soldiers, but they find an unexpected ally in the monster Man-Thing, who only harms those who feel fear. A flashback reveals Baron Blood's origin story, showing him as Union Jack’s older brother, grievously wounded in World War I, and turned into a vampire by Dracula. The main fight pits the Howling Commandos against waves of super-soldiers, while Union Jack faces his own brother. In a dramatic climax, Union Jack is forced to kill Baron Blood with a broken railing pole. The villain disintegrates into ash, and Dum Dum comforts a grieving Union Jack. The show connects to the MCU and sets up a future film, Captain America & The Invaders.
