When eight-year-old Kevin McCallister, taken away the night before on a family trip to Paris, his mother makes him sleep in the attic, and he wishes his family were not at home. After the McCallisters leave for the airport without Kevin, who wakes up and believes his desire to have no family has come true, he realizes that two con artists plan to steal the residence. Alone, he needs to protect the family home from these troubled thieves.
