Hellboy wanders through 1950s Appalachia, only to get involved in a case surrounding local man Tom Ferrell (who has returned home to atone for his sins) and his deal with a local devil: the Crooked Man. Tom teams up with Hellboy and local witch Cora to venture up the mountains to a church in the Crooked Man's domain.
