William has devoted most of his life to caring for his wife, who has Alzheimer's. Her death was a nightmarishly painful experience for him, and what hurt even more is that his children turned away from him as soon as his wife (and thus their mother) became ill, apparently treating her as if she was a burden, an obstacle. The man suffers from loneliness, but one night he sees in a dream his dead wife who misses him. Unable to bear the loneliness, he decides to commit suicide. He goes to "Heaven" and although he can't be by his wife's side for eternity, he can see her for a while. He asks God for one wish - to be able to visit his adult children in his sleep.
