Earth's Middling Heroes
The Avengers are among the most respected heroes in world, saving countless lives and defeating hundreds of enemies, but not these guys. The GLA are considered to be laughing stocks among their peers, even villains like Paste Pot Pete don't take them seriously. So, when they discover a plot by the terrorist group known as A.I.M they jump at the opportunity to stop them.
