Rather than straight up vilify Leo Beebe as an egotistical control freak, this character, based on a real life person, should be portrayed as an overly cautious marketing executive for Ford Motor Company, who is very afraid of tainting the Ford image with an unprofessional driver, and pushing the GT40 to its limit, as the car failing to finish the race would reflect very poorly on Ford's already shaky reputation at the time. Leo Beebe can still the the villain of the story, but his motivations should be clear and understandable; he should believe that he is the good guy in his own story, which makes for a much more interesting character.
