The exiled Lucius Verus Aurelius embarks on an odyssey of revenge returning to Rome after Roman General Acacius invaded his home in Numidia resulting in the death of his wife and his enslavement. Sold as a gladiator for the amusement of Rome’s twin Emperors Geta and Caracalla, Lucius reluctantly agrees to fight for the enigmatic slave master Macrinus in exchange for a duel with Acacius in the colosseum however Macrinus secretly has designs to overthrow the emperors.
