Tyrant ruler of Apokolips, seeking the Anti-Life Equation, a power that allows him to subjugate all life in the universe, he was once on Earth millions of years ago, but was stopped by the ancient gods and other warriors of the planet. After discovering that the Equation is on Earth, he sends his bastard brother Kalibak to track it down. He had been played by Ray Porter in the Justice League movie, but was replaced by a better-known actor.
