When Gregory, Vanessa, and the Glamrock Animatronics join forces with Liu Kang and Kung Lao to challenge the dark sorcerer, their battle takes a dire turn as Goro enters the fray. While the heroes struggle against this new menace, Shang Tsung seizes the chance to open a portal to Outworld and escapes with his sinister allies, leaving the fortress collapsing around them. Escaping the destruction, Gregory, Vanessa, the Glamrock team, Liu Kang, Sub-Zero, Smoke, Sonya, Johnny Cage, Jax, and Kung Lao arrive at the Wu Shi Academy—only to find it under siege by Baraka and his Tarkatan warriors. After fending off the attackers, the united heroes resolve to take the fight directly into Outworld, determined to confront Shao Kahn himself. Along their journey, they encounter the White Snake Demon, Blanca, and her younger sister, the Green Snake Demon, Verta, whose powers of mystic transformation and elemental mastery may shift the balance in the coming war.
