A quick view to down the street revealed that no-one in sight. Clark turned back to the little girl. "Want to see a magic trick?" The little girl nodded, tears still shining in her eyes. "Okay," Clark said, "close your eyes and keep them closed until I saw to open them. I guarantee you'll love it." The little girl covered her eyes with her hands. With another check of his surroundings, Clark floated, as slowly as he could, up to the branch where the cat was stuck. He'd have to be slow. He couldn't tell how many times he'd whooshed right up to a tree and scared a cat while trying to save it. At least one had declawed itself trying to scratch him.
