A former member of the Future Foundation, Peter Petruski is a gifted chemist, skilled in creating adhesives stronger than steel and solvents capable of melting through concrete. Unfortunately, most people at the Foundation saw his work as impractical and saddled him with the appellation "Paste-Pot Pete" after an unfortunate accident involving a bucket of glue. Leaving the Baxter Building in a huff, Petruski found himself short on funds, until he was contacted by what might have been his only friend, Bentley Wittman. Joining Wittworks, Petruski soon developed the weapons which he would use as the Wizard's regular partner and Frightful Four teammate, the Trapster.
