A brilliant Russian zoologist who theories on "accelerated evolution" led him to launch himself and three trained primates into space and exposing them to a mysterious cosmic storm. The exposure gave Kragoff and his "Super-Apes" their abilities. Kragoff himself gained the powers of intangibility and invisibility that he uses for espionage and sabotage as the Red Ghost. But it also had the side-effect of reducing his abilities of speech and fine motor control. Unfortunately, his devious intellect and ruthlessness have not diminished in the slightest.
